This hymn is a devotional praise to the Supreme Divine (Ishvara) as the compassionate Lord of the universe who protects all devotees. It celebrates God as the all-pervading, eternal, and vast source of existence, consciousness, and bliss (sat-chit-ananda), who is the cause of all creation and the ultimate refuge for all living beings. The hymn acknowledges that God's glory is infinite and beyond the comprehension of even great sages and seers who contemplate the divine mysteries. It concludes by stating that even the highest deities like Brahma, Vishnu (Shripati), Ganesha, sage Narada, goddess Saraswati, and Indra constantly meditate upon this Supreme Being and attain the highest spiritual bliss through such devotion.
